Utilities Pricing

See my Drivers and Irons club pages for pricing on these clubs

Please remember that the clubs below are EXAMPLES of CUSTOM CLUBS. I am using these as popular examples of clubs which customers have opted to purchase in the past in order to give you a “feel” for what a “type” of club may cost. I do not keep these clubs in stock and the prices may change with the particular club you buy based on what it takes to customize the club to YOU (Shaft, head, grip, PUREing, swing weighting, etc., etc.)! I have done my best to be accurate in the pricing; however, not until you receive a written estimate do I guarantee the price. Please, call with ANY questions!

As a CALIFORNIA 2005-2006 Golf Clubmaker of the Year and 2004-2005 Golfsmith Elite Clubmaker I have access to over 20 driver heads and even more fairway wood heads as well as over 130 wood (graphite) shafts. With all those choices I remain selective in what I recommend.

Do you have trouble hitting long irons?

If you have trouble with the long irons, utility clubs may be your answer.  Utility woods are a cross – a hybrid – of an iron and a wood.  The utility club allows you to strike the ball with a sweeping motion “through the ball,” not the “downward-divot-producing” striking motion required of a long iron.  The club is very user friendly.  The club travels through tall grass more easily than conventional irons and can be played from fairway bunkers.  This is not a “trick” club offered on T.V.  This is an honest-to-goodness club that has been seen on the pro tours.

How do you tell which utility club that you need?

Easy.  What is the first “long iron” that you have difficulty hitting?  Typically – not always – golfers will say the 5 or 4 iron.   Now look at the chart below.  If the first long iron that you have trouble hitting is a 4 iron, then you should use the Quick Strike II 27 degree.  You should also replace the 3 iron – if you use one.  The Quick Strike II’s offer loft (Loft Is Your Friend!) and a higher launch angle.  The Quick Strike II’s are easier to hit than long irons or even fairway woods.
